Weyes Blood- Real Thing

Weyes Blood- Real Thing

I grew up after listening to Titanic Rising.

Like, actually evolved as a person. You could’ve asked 16-year-old me, “Who’s the most influential person in your life?” and I’d say “my mom” — but deep down I’d be thinking, Weyes Blood carried me more than she did. (Sorry, Mom.)

But enough about Titanic Rising — let’s talk about “Real Thing.”

This song? Pure serotonin. It’s like the emotional end credits of a movie — not a sad one, either. Like, the kind where the dog doesn’t die and the couple actually gets back together.

It’s got that feel-good, “sun peeking through the trees” energy. The kind of song that makes you want to go outside, touch grass, and maybe cry a little — but in a cute way.

It’s also great for forgetting that you once spent three full hours watching a movie about cowboys… fighting aliens… in the Old West.

Yeah. That happened. That was real. And “Real Thing” is the only thing that can cleanse it from my memory.

Anyway, thanks for reading.

Go listen to Weyes Blood. Go walk in a park. Go heal.
